One of our favorite things at Good Mews is to see our shelter cats in their forever homes! It reminds all of us why we do what we do everyday in our efforts of “finding good homes for good kitties.” We hope you enjoy reading all of our happy endings stories and seeing how great the cats are doing. We encourage all of you to send us your cats’ stories and photos to place on our website! Please email (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your happy endings!
Hi,
Sorry for the delay with Stepa’s pics. He is a great and playful guy, but
still a bit shy. When he feels more comfortable with posing for me , I’ll
send more photos.
He is feeling more and more at home, likes to sleep with us, and be around in general,
but doesn’t like to be held.
He has a good appetite, likes his dry food, but not too much canned.
I am trying different kinds/brands, I’d like him to gain some weight.
Thank you
Gala
I adopted Bernadette (aka Bodey), from Good Mews back in June. I was warned that she was a very shy kitty and had people working with her to get over her anxiety, but I knew as soon as I saw her that she was intended to be mine!

Bernadette is so incredibly happy in her new home! I have never met a more grateful kitty. When I get home from work in the evening I sit on my couch and play the ukulele…B loves it and always comes to sit in my lap and listens. It’s amazing how much joy she has brought me in such a short period of time and everyday when she cuddles up to my face I know she feels the same way!

I’m so appreciative to Good Mews for taking such great care of my Bernadette while she waited for me…I’m convinced that this is what she must have been doing, as I see no other reason for such a sweet cat to live without a home for so long.

I adopted Leonardo and Arthur (my Toby and Oliver) in April 2009 and although I sent you a happy endings note last year, I wanted to send along a short update. I accidentally became the new mommy for an abandoned 3 month old kitten in late May and just want to report that my two boys have been absolutely wonderful with the new baby. Toby, being only 2-1/2 yrs, began playing with her from minute 1.

Oliver, a little more cautious at 5 yrs, just watched for several days. Now both Good Mews boys love love love their new baby sister Sophie.

They wrestle, play chase, running around the house in circles, and it could be Sophie chasing big brother, or the reverse! There’s lots of mutual grooming, and naps together. I feel very thankful that Toby and Oliver were so well socialized and behaved so well with baby Sophie. I attribute this to their time a Good Mews where they learned to be good with other kitties and where they got their good manners!

For their own part, Toby, 1 yr old when he came to me, has become a HUGE boy and is practicing looking like a big bruiser tabby. He’s still precious as a kitten, and loves to get on the chair behind my head in the evening and grab my head with both his paws and groom my hair. Oliver is total lap cat and I don’t know what I’d do without him :-) He still loves his tummy rubs and in his ecstasy stretches way out one of his front paws - I call this his ‘happy paw’. Very cute! Oliver is 18 lbs, and I think Toby is more (this year’s vet checking is pending), but on a fixed amount of food per day to keep things under control! Anyway.. thank you again for my very good precious boys!

Ashley and Zweena came from a very loving home, but their mother must go into an assisted living because she is very ill. She loved her kitties very much and took good care of them. She rescued them from a horrible hoarding situation and provided them with the loving home that they deserved. She wanted to make sure they found a new loving home, so she contacted us, in hopes that we could help her. We told her we would be more than happy to help her and her babies. We recently took in Sunshine and Ms. Smokey, who already found a wonderful home together!
Zweena is a darling girl that is a bit confused as to why she is at the shelter, but I think in time she will be OK. Her mom describes her as very playful and affectionate. I think once we start spending a lot of time with her she will start enjoying her time with us. But she is such a doll, I don’t think she will be with us long.
Once we learn more about Zweena, we will give updates!
We are open for adoptions every Saturday from 10am-4pm.
We are also open the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday from 1pm-4pm.
